'Hi, it’s me Emme’
The dull introduction appeared on the small window as I
clicked on the ‘enter’ tab.
A sudden regret hit me when I read back my unadorned
greeting.
I only met this girl once, a few months ago.
Never talk to her ever sinced.
And ‘Hi, it’s me Emme’ was my grand entrance?
My cheeks were flushed from the embarrassment.
Her Yahoo Messenger status indicator showed that the owner
was online, not in the idle state.
But no response.
So I waited.
She must be busy, my pride assured me.
I turned my face to the wall, looking for some
distraction.
The spotlights high above in the sloped ceiling bathed my
room in bright light. I noticed some glow in the dark star stickers on the
wall.
Memento from my ex.
I made a mental note to rip them all off tomorrow.
Right before any bad memories gushing their ways into my
head; I saw a small orange light flickering on the screen.

I held my breath.
